Boho Apartment by the Mediterranean

We designed this apartment in Spain in a boho style that radiates warmth and ease, creating an atmosphere made for slowing down. The starting point was working with light — the sharp southern sun is softened here by soft, airy fabrics, matt wall surfaces and a palette taken straight from the coastal landscape.

The walls are finished in clay plasters, which work beautifully with the exotic mango wood used in the furniture, such as the tables and the carved headboard in the bedroom. Clay plaster gives the interior a live, irregular texture — it reacts differently to morning light than to sunset, so the apartment never looks quite the same.

Colourful Spanish tiles in the kitchen bring in the local accent and underline the southern character of the flat. It is a deliberate reference to regional craft: hand-painted ceramics next to simple natural wood fronts, all held in a calm sand-and-terracotta range.

Wicker, natural fabrics and woven lighting complete the scheme, and the living area opens straight onto the terrace — which is where most of the day happens anyway.
