Costa del Sol Villa Close to Nature

The interior of this villa on Costa del Sol was created for living close to nature. The Mediterranean landscape became the inspiration: the warmth of sand, the colour of earth, natural wood, stone, light and the blue of the sea.

The house stands high above the bay, so the first design decision was to give the view the leading role. The living room opens with double-height glazing, and the walls, ceilings and floors are kept in one tone so that the eye stops at nothing on the way to the horizon.

The furniture is set low and around the perimeter, as a sunken seating area. Nothing cuts the line of the window, and the interior — despite its volume — stays intimate.

The base of the scheme is hand-finished clay plaster, which gives the walls softness, depth and character. Its irregular, organic texture works beautifully with light, changing through the day: in the morning the surface looks almost uniform, in the afternoon the relief comes out.

Travertine and wood complete the palette. Nothing here is glossy or loud, because everything that could compete with the view has deliberately been left out.
