Grażyna Wolszczak’s Apartment full of colour

The living area keeps to three colours: deep red, cobalt and warm brass. A red sofa on a long rug marks the centre of the room, the fireplace and the television disappear into one calm wall, and a cobalt column with a navy door frame organises the passage to the dining room.

The furniture has a strong drawing. Turned, lacquered table legs look like a row of beads, the tops are stone with pronounced veining, and the edges of the joinery are consistently softened by an arch — the same motif returns in the doors, the mirrors and the panelling.

The kitchen and dining room balance the strong colours. Oak fronts, a dark countertop and a brass tap bring calm, while the backlit glass in the joinery works like a lamp in the evening. The artistic wallpaper in the dining room is the only pattern in this part of the flat, which is exactly why it works.

The private part gets its own dose of colour. In the bedroom an upholstered headboard runs across the whole wall, in the wardrobe the red returns as a soft, pleated surface, and cobalt doors in the hallway close the whole thing with one strong accent.

Herringbone flooring and bespoke joinery hold it all together. This is a consistent interior, not an accidental one: every strong element has a quiet surface next to it that lets it speak.
