A house by the lake

This spacious house by the lake was designed as an oasis of peace for a family of four - a place to spend time with friends, evenings by the fireplace and board games with the children.

A comfortable island appeared in the middle of the large kitchen, inviting everyone to cook together. It is the natural centre of the house: a place to work, talk and have a quick breakfast.

Soft seating arranged around the three-sided fireplace forms the heart of the living room. Visible from several sides, the fireplace organises the open plan without adding extra walls.

The interior is composed with the view outside. Natural materials in earthy colours dominate: whitewashed ceiling beams work perfectly with natural brick and a distressed wooden floor.

Besides curtains, shutters appeared in the windows, letting the family control daylight freely and giving the house its cosy, cottage character.
